Who are the Defense Mechanics?
The
Defense Mechanics are a group of like minded, long term martial artists in
the Northwest Corner of Connecticut. Together we have 41 years of combined
martial arts experience.
As a group we are interested in providing women with a system of self defense methodologies tailored to the female body's natural strengths.
After much research on the subject we discovered the Rape Escape method.
We have all received training and instructor certification in the Rape Escape, Girls on Guard and Fight like A Girl methodologies.

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide women an alternative system of self defense that is NOT a watered down version of an existing martial art. We are not interested in training women to fight like men. Training women to fight like men is not a smart strategy for a personal security system. We prefer to train women to maximize, then bring their particular strengths to a conflict while minimizing the strengths of a male attacker.
